Season Long Football Squares: Pick Your Square Once, New Numbers Every Week
Set up 100 football squares one time. Everyone keeps the same square all season, and the numbers re-randomize for every game.
Same Square, Different Numbers Every Week
Each person's name stays locked in the same grid position for all games. What changes each week is the row and column numbers, which are randomized for every game.
In the image above, Jake and Brad own the exact same grid positions in both weeks. In the Vikings / Packers game Jake's square lands on 7-3 and wins with a 27-13 final.
The following week against the Lions, that same square is now 0-2 and loses, while Brad's square hits for the 14-10 final.
This is what keeps a season long pool fair. Nobody is stuck with the terrible 2-5 square for four months, and nobody rides 0-7 all season.
Live Example: A Full Vikings Season
Here is a real season long board that ran every Minnesota Vikings game: view the season long squares leaderboard.
Every game gets its own grid stacked down the page, with a score strip across the top so you can jump to any week. Notice the names sit in the same positions on every grid, but the numbers across the top and down the side are different for each game.
Winners are marked automatically as soon as each game goes final, so there is no scorekeeping on your end. Tap any player's name at the top to highlight all of their squares across every game.
How To Set It Up (One Time, About 2 Minutes)
- Start a football squares pool, or jump straight to your team from the football squares team directory.
- Select the games you want in the pool. Picking a team from the directory pre-loads that team's full remaining schedule, so you can check all of them at once for a season long board.
- Choose your winning periods (end of Q1, halftime, end of Q3, final).
- Share the join link with your group.
- Everyone claims their squares online one time. You can also just type in names and let the system fill the board randomly if you're collecting picks offline.
- Once all 100 squares are claimed, numbers generate automatically for every game on the schedule, and they're different for each game.
That's the entire season. Each week the live leaderboard scores the winners at the end of each quarter for you. There is nothing to re-enter, re-print, or re-randomize.
Pricing: One Fee For The Whole Season
Pricing is per pool, not per week, and it caps out quickly:
- Free with 4 or fewer entries
- 1 game = $5
- 2 games = $10
- 3 games = $15
- 4 to 70 games = $20
So a full 17 game regular season (or NCAA full season) board for one team is a one-time $20. Not $20 per week, and not $20 per person. One flat fee for the pool.
What About Playoffs And The Super Bowl?
Playoff and Super Bowl squares will be available as an option once the playoffs are set. You can create a separate pool once the brackets are set.
