Tennis Major Championship Office Pool
June 23, 2015 by
Spice up the next major Tennis Championship with a fun tennis pool!
Pool Objective
The objective of this pool is to pick a team of tennis players that you believe will collectively win the most prize money during a single tournament. This pool is great for the major tournaments, including the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open, but also works for any ATP tennis tournament for which you can easily determine the final prize money breakouts.
Scoring
- Calculate your team earnings by adding all of your individual players earnings for the tournament.
- The team with the most team earnings at the end of the tournament wins.
- See the image below for the 2015 Wimbledon payouts in Euros:
Picking Teams
- Pick 3 players from the top 6 favorites, based on betting odds
- Pick 4 players from betting odds 7-32
- Pick 3 players from betting odds below 32
The Odds
There are many online sites where you can get current odds. Here is one we use:http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/wimbledon/mens/winner
The odds do change leading up to the tournament, so waiting until the official draw is posted is the best way to know that all the players listed in the odds sheets are actually playing in the tournament.
The Draw
Draws are typically posted shortly before the tournament begins. If you want to get your pool started early (that is, before the official draws are posted), you can visit any odds making website and organize your picksheets using current odds to win the tournament. The official draw for Wimbledon will be available on Friday, June 26, 2015. Hi there. I was looking for a way to run an Australian Open pool for my tennis club members. Do you guys do that?
No we currently don’t offer any software to run a tennis pool. We only have golf pools, and some articles outlining how to run various other pools. -Sean
